We require a dedicated Teaching Assistant with a focus on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to join our vibrant team. This role is critical in supporting our learners' SEMH development, helping them to build resilience and confidence, essential for their journey to adulthood. Our provisions cater to a diverse group of learners across various stages, focusing on both academic and personal development to prepare them for future success.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assist in the delivery of a tailored curriculum designed to foster social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Create and maintain a supportive, understanding, and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement educational activities that cater specifically to SEMH challenges.
  • Offer one-to-one support and small group sessions focusing on emotional well-being and social skills.
  • Actively engage with students to build trust and rapport, encouraging them to express their feelings and manage their emotions effectively.
  • Uphold and exemplify core values of positivity, resilience, passion, and collaboration, guiding students to internalise these values.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant with a strong emphasis on SEMH.
  • Excellent understanding of the strategies needed to manage SEMH challenges within a learning environment.
  • Ability to work empathetically and effectively as part of a team dedicated to student well-being.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, colleagues, and parents.
