A Huddersfield Primary school is seeking a SEND teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 2 boy who has multiple medical needs, starting in January.
The role requires experience in supporting children with medical needs and additional learning requirements, ideally as an SEND specialist or learning support assistant.
Responsibilities include assisting with safe movement around the school, supporting the child's learning in Maths and literacy, and administering medication and tube feeds, with training provided.
Candidates should demonstrate strong pastoral care and the ability to adapt to the pupil's needs and cues throughout the school day.
The salary for this position is competitive, and applicants should have relevant experience working with children with medical needs.

From January, a Huddersfield Primary school is looking for a learning support assistant to work 1:1 with a boy in Year 2 with multiple medical needs.

Day to day for this SEND teaching assistant role:

Supporting with moving safely around school
Supporting child with learning (working at Year 2 level for Maths and Reception level for Writing and Reading)
Administrating medication
Administering tube feeds (training will be given)

As a support assistant you will show strong pastoral and emotional support for your pupil, as well as being vigilant to their cues and needs which will mean able to think on the spot and being flexible with his timetable. The pupil will require some medical administration and tube feeding.
