A fantastic opportunity has recently become available for a SEND Teaching Assistant in a primary school in Halifax. The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible to work with pupils with Autism in a Year 1 class.
The role as a SEND TA:
- To support students who struggle with their class work
- Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
- To provide support to the class teacher
- To encourage children to do their best
- Help manage behaviour
- Build good realtionships with the children in your care
The successful SEND TA will:
- Be calm and compassionate. Personality is everything!
- Be able to take initiative well and problem solve
- Have some experience working with children - desirable but not essential
- Be patient. Some students struggle with additional learning needs and need someone supportive to help them get through the school day
- Understand the importance of safeguarding in schools
- Must have an enhanced DBS Check or be willing to apply for one
