ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

We are recruiting for a talented Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join a forward-thinking engineering group, playing a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge centrifuge package projects. This role offers the chance to work closely with diverse teams, including sales, production, purchasing, and contracts, ensuring the timely delivery of projects that meet the highest quality standards (ISO9001 and ISO3834).
Key Responsibilities:As part of this dynamic role, the successful candidate will:

Project Scope & Contracts:
- Interpret contracts, focusing on the electrical and instrumentation scope of supply for centrifuge packages.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to align expectations. (Some mechanical engineering knowledge is beneficial but not essential.)

Tendering & Compliance:
- Contribute to the tendering process by reviewing client specifications, preparing deviation lists, and negotiating scope of supply.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and relevant engineering standards.

Design & Engineering:
- Develop P&IDs based on client and company requirements, negotiating scope of supply for optimal outcomes.
- Specify detailed components like motors, heaters, junction boxes, and systems supporting lubrication and seals.
- Perform SIL (Safety Integrity Level) calculations and select components suitable for explosive environments in accordance with ATEX or IEC Ex standards.

Documentation & Vendor Collaboration:
- Produce essential engineering documents, including Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cable Lists, Interconnection Diagrams, and Control Philosophies.
- Create Bills of Materials (BOM) for the entire electrical scope, including skid electrical components (e.g., Instrument Fittings, Cables, Cable Tray).
- Liaise with sub-vendors for technical and commercial discussions.

Testing & Commissioning:
- Prepare FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) documentation.
- Attend third-party FAT for DCS-controlled equipment, either onsite or remotely.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an industry where client specifications drive projects, ideally working with Petrochemical companies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Self-motivated with a flexible, problem-solving attitude.
- Experience managing projects valued between £200K and £6M, typically lasting up to a year.
- Ideally HND qualified or minimum level 3
