Our Client is a dynamic and growing company committed to delivering top-quality training and educational services. They are seeking a talented and experienced Finance Manager to join their team and oversee the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring the company’s financial health and supporting our strategic goals.

Job Purpose: As the Finance Manager, you will work closely with the Director of Finance and be responsible for financial planning, analysis, reporting, cost management, and risk management. You will play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting business units in achieving their financial targets and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned business units.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario planning.
  • Lead the monthly outsourced payroll process, including pensions.

Financial Reporting:

  • Lead the month-end process to final draft format, including preparation of the accounts pack.
  • Support the quarterly and annual financial reporting process.
  • Monitor and report on the financial performance of business units, highlighting key drivers and variances.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve financial performance.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and performance reviews to business unit leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Business Partnering:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business unit leaders, providing financial support.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business unit’s operations, strategies, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance and achieve business goals.

Cost Management:

  • Report departmental expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for various projects and investments.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Closely monitor the company’s cash flow, including cash reserves and forecasted cash needs.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes to ensure timely collections and payments.
  • Optimize working capital and manage liquidity effectively.

Team Collaboration and Development:

  • Lead and develop 2 junior finance employees and an apprentice to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processes and reporting.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with finance employees, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or ACCA preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of Sage and Xero accounting software desirable
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
