- Carry out general maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
- Communicate details of unscheduled downtime to the Maintenance Lead and the reasons, with solutions offered. Â
- Ensure comprehensive information, both verbal and written, is carried out between shifts to ensure efficient and smooth handover to other maintenance staff and the Maintenance Lead.
- Carry out routine maintenance schedules to the maintenance schedule plan PPM (preventative planning maintenance).Â
- Carry out general maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
- Regularly check the computer SFOL (shop floor on-line) to ensure current machines are all running.
- Take Responsibility for ensuring the workshop and individual toolboxes are maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure all equipment meets company and legal health & safety requirements.
- Time served Mechanical or Electrical engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in either discipline.
- Excellent problem analysis, PLC fault finding and ability to read schematic diagrams.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical control systems.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferable but not essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to identify maintenance improvement opportunities and develop action plan to deliver.
- Able to use a Computerised maintenance management system, (CMMS), to manage daily work activities.
