HSA Locums are looking to engage with support workers and healthcare assistants experienced within substance misuse within the community. Our client is an established community service offering support for patients with alcohol, addiction they are implementing a new service which will enable patients undergoing the detoxification process within the service to have support provided to them directly within their own home.

You will be working with people with significant mental health issues, social & health care needs and substance misuse issues, and will work alongside the community mental health teams and adult social care services the ideal candidate will be a great communicator with substance misuse experience with a minimum of 6 months experience.

The role:

  • Supporting service users through their treatment/recovery journey
  • Assisting on night duty monitoring patients and providing support where needed
  • Meeting patients and discussing their recovery
  • Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
  • Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
  • Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
  • Safeguarding

.About you:

  • Have a strong understandingof substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
  • Able to interpret and identify risks and escalate accordingly
  • Experience of working with group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour.
  • Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and writtenwith good IT skills
  • Proactiveand able to work on own initiativewith excellent time management and prioritising skills
  • Have a good working knowledgeof mental health interventions,services,and good practice
  • Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skillswith the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals,agencies,and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
  • Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
  • Able to work remote and work within patients homes
  • Able to travel

Our client Is able to offer 3-45 nights per week ongoing for the right candidate with the correct experience we are looking for immediate starts.
