This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary to join the Private Client department of this a well-known law firm based in Huddersfield. This is a busy and varied role where you will provide secretarial support to their busy Fee Earners. My client offers a professional and friendly working environment along with great benefits and culture. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Legal Secretary who has worked within Private Client (Wills & Probate) previously.

Duties will include:

Typing documents, emails and file notes, etc for the fee earner’s

Setting up new appointments, answering telephone, speaking to clients and solicitors

Joining team meetings and making suggestions for more efficient admin

Assisting with new precedents

Liaising with other members of the admin team

Digital dictation (BigHand)

Ensuring files are fully time recorded for billing

Assisting other fee earners within the team

Initial point of contact, take new enquiry calls, book appointments, diary management.

Open and close files.

Scan in daily post and general filing.

Deal with Will and document requests.

Drafting generic letters (Client Care Letters, initial letters to banks etc advising of deaths).

Draft SEV forms and notices of renunciation

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will need previous experience of working within the legal sector

Experiencing in drafting basic Lasting Power of Attorneys (LPAs) and Wills

Excellent telephone manner, typing skills and use of digital dictation

Good typing skills and use of digital dictation

Highly motivated

Highly organised

Willingness to take on new tasks

Proactive and using initiative

Efficient

Able to prioritise workloads of different fee earners.
