The Role

As Engineering Manager (Structural), you’ll lead our design team, oversee workflows, and ensure all structural designs meet the latest codes and standards. Your role will be a mix of technical expertise, project management, and mentorship, making a real impact in both our team and the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design team, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on all projects for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Mentor and support our engineers and design technicians.
  • Review architectural drawings and prepare fee proposals.
  • Respond to site queries and provide technical advice.
  • Undertake site visits to assess structural requirements.
  • Prepare structural calculations, survey reports, and detailed sketches/drawings.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and architects to build strong relationships.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a driven and experienced Structural Engineer with strong leadership skills. If you’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you! About you:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in domestic, residential, and commercial sectors.
  • Degree-qualified (B.Eng minimum) in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Chartered membership with IStructE and/or ICE.
  • Strong knowledge of Tekla Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office (Bentley STAAD experience is a plus).
  • Comprehensive understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Familiarity with Highways AIP process and basic drainage design.
  • Solid grasp of CDM Regulations 2015 and health & safety requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving projects.
  • A valid clean driving licence.
