We are looking for a dedicated Mechanical Engineer with hands-on Technical Operator experience. This role is perfect for someone who combines technical expertise with the adaptability and focus to ensure equipment runs at peak performance, guaranteeing the highest quality and efficiency standards in every product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Proactively conduct routine maintenance on a range of mechanical and electrical equipment to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns swiftly to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Technical Operation: Operate and monitor machinery to support production flow, adjusting settings and calibrating equipment as necessary to meet specific product standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity, and enhance safety.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with food safety and health and safety regulations, maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure equipment meets production requirements, providing technical support and training to operators as needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience & Skills: Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, with a strong foundation in mechanical systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with PLCs, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and experience in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and respond to emergencies outside of regular hours if needed.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field. Additional technical certifications are a plus.
