We are recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join an award winning family owned textile manufacturing company which supplies its products to 22 countries worldwide! This Maintenance Technician role will be based in their manufacturing site in Huddersfield.This is a permanent role working Monday to Thursday 9.30am-5.30pm (0930-1730) and Fridays 8am-4pm (0800-1600) offering a salary of up to £33,000 per annum dependent on experience plus great benefits as below!As Maintenance Technician reporting into the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, you will provide an effective preventative maintenance and breakdown repair service for the operational departments. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out an intensive programme of planned preventive maintenance for all company process machinery and equipment. Regularly revise and updates schedule as required.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on all company machinery and equipment to include fault finding, problem solving and minor repairs to minimise down time.
  • Full, accurate and timely completion of all maintenance logs, schedules, etc
  • Contact external contractors as required and accompany/assist them while on site.
  • Ensure there are adequate supplies of spares on site for commonly used parts or those with a long lead time.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks and inspections and take timely corrective action.
  • Carry out all minor mechanical & electrical repairs in relation to buildings and utilities
  • Ensure quality procedures relating to maintenance are followed e.g. calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Communicate process changes to relevant parties in order that relevant follow up may be carried out, e.g. training.
  • Ensure full and timely reporting of all major breakdowns, significant problems, repair requirements, delays or machine down time to relevant personnel.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary to clarify technical details and overcome problems.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
  • At least 4 years experience in a multi skilled maintenance role with both mechanical and electrical skills
  • Experience of working as a Maintenance Technician, carrying out machinery repairs, fault finding and problem solving within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working on pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment.
  • Experience of sewing machines, and cutting and pressing machinery would be a bonus
