Food Technical Coordinator

Join a leading supplier of food ingredients with a 30-year history of excellence. We are seeking a motivated Food Technical Coordinator with extensive experience to support our ingredient distribution and gluten-free manufacturing facility.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Maintain the site's quality standards and ensure compliance with external certification standards, keeping the site audit-ready at all times.
  • Manage internal specifications, including regular reviews and interpretation using customer portals.
  • Handle raw material and supplier information management.
  • Respond to customer requests by completing technical documentation and specifications.
  • Manage customer Certificates of Analysis (C of As) and check C of A data from suppliers against the specs.
  • Oversee technical documentation and artwork to ensure legal accuracy.
  • Ensure all raw materials and packaging meet legislative requirements.
  • Effectively manage customer complaints and issues, identifying causes and solutions, including covering customer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), investigating and responding.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations when required.
  • Complete monthly KPI reports, summarising issues and trends.
  • Provide support to the quality department, including writing procedures and managing these along with the quality manual.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical roles within the food industry, with a significant portion in technical responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with BRCGS accredited standards in the UK and audit experience.
  • Degree in a food-related discipline.
  • Awareness of current food legislation and regulatory experience is an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • A "right first time" attitude and ability to think outside the box.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
  • Experience in writing procedures and managing quality manuals.
  • Good awareness of checking C of A data from suppliers against the specs.
