Shift Production Manager - Afternoons: Our client is a Huddersfield based manufacturer looking to appoint a Shift Production Manager for their fast paced volume production site working a Monday to Friday 6-2 Afternoons shift. Managing around 50 people on shift at any one time the successful Production Manager will have previous experience of shift work and leading a team to meet daily KPI's, preferably in a time sensitive, lean focused, volume manufacturing environment (precision engineering, fabrication, plastic, glass, electronics etc)
Working a permanent 2-10 afternoon shift there may be occasional weekend work as overflow if production targets are not met by the shift. This is very rare. Although the majority of staff are permanent at peak times your team may be strengthened with the addition of contract / agency staff. It would be beneficial for the Shift Production Manager to have had had previous experience of managing temporary staff.
Previous work experience in a lean manufacturing environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of continuous improvement. The Shif Production Manager ultimately chosen for this role can come from a wide range of backgrounds.
