Primary Teaching Assistant - Supply

Stafflex is seeking enthusiastic and versatile Educational Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Huddersfield. As a General ETA, you will work collaboratively with teachers to assist in classroom activities, help manage student behaviour, and provide support to ensure a productive learning environment. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to student's education across a range of subjects and year groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher with managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Provide general support to children, helping them with classwork and developing their skills
  • You may be required to carry out work in the classroom and outside the main teaching area to meet the needs of the pupils in your care
  • Work with small groups and 1:1 to support children in reading and writing
  • Prepare and organise teaching materials and resources

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a school setting
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Maths and English qualification of Level 2 or above
  • An enhanced DBS check registered with the DBS Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
