We seek a Quality Assurance Lead in the management of food safety and quality assurance activities. The successful candidate will be providing expertise and management support to the sites various teams in order to ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are met.


Quality Assurance Lead - duties:

  • Manage the food safety and Quality Management System
  • Manage compliance of food safety, certifications, legal and best practice
  • Completion of customer quality and technical documentation
  • Ensure products are manufactured in line with manufacturing practices and food safety legislation
  • Implement policies and procedures to meet the specification and customer requirements
  • Identify the root cause of non-conforming product, processes and procedures
  • Implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Working with the Program Manager to monitor and maintain the technical and quality aspects
  • Create and maintain up to date specifications for manufactured goods
  • Support the Quality Coordinator in maintaining specifications for all raw materials, packaging, and bought in finished goods.
  • Working with Technical Manager to ensure new suppliers are reviewed and approved, as well as the approval of all NPD/EPD
  • Monitoring customer requirements
  • Working closely with Customer Services to identify requirements, challenges or complaints
  • Conduct internal audits and close out any non-conformances
  • Support external audits outside of quality function (e.g., SMETA, Carbon Mapping etc.)
  • Using SAP system e.g., item set up, BoMs
  • Support the Supply Chain Team in system development work on SAP
  • Manage FT, Organic, RFA, customer approvals
  • Provide direction, support and training to production operatives
  • Preparation of reports: quarterly non-financial reports, customer complaint reports, supplier noncompliance, audit follow up reports


Quality Assurance Lead - required experience:

  • Degree in a food scientific or similar technical discipline
  • 3 years technical experience within the retail food industry
  • Experience of BRC and HACCP standards
  • Knowledge of ethical trading environments and environmental practices
  • Auditing experience
  • Knowledge of international supply chains
