- Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe use of equipment
- Compiling reports about production and providing management with updates
- Managing the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
- Duties of fabricator, mentoring and coaching, using knowledge transfer to development team members.
- Experienced in MIG Welding, heavy plate up to 15 mm multi position
- Ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently and correctly by managing productive time of all team members. Working to eliminate non-productive time and unaccounted hours of the team, to allow all resources and assets to be used efficiently and correctly
- Sign off and manage team holidays.
- Checking that skill set groups stagger holidays to maintain dept effectiveness and allows planned production commitment.
- Work with Production Planning to ensure agreed production plans are adhered to. Allocating work to the team to meet the agreed production plan.
- Report to management any issues arising or future identified issues.
- Assess learning and development requirements for team members. Maintain skills matrices for full team capabilities with a training plan to facilitate multi skilling where possible.
- Experience of working in a HGV industry, with heavy weight fabrication and heavy plates up to 15mm.
- Be accountable and responsible for Health and safety within the yard and workshops. Making sure company policies and procedures are adhered to making sure the workplace is a safe environment. Reporting any concerns to the H&S manager.
- Ensuring product and service quality is in line with the company quality policy and expectations.
- Responsible for creating, developing and encouraging a positive culture in line with company processes, policies and staff handbook.
- Be able to communicate issues /suggestions to senior company employees.
- Ensuring that production processes are in line with company and legal requirements.
- Accurately completing all necessary documentation for compliance
- Implementing relevant emergency response procedures during emergency situations.
- Motivating team members
- Using the disciplinary procedure when required o Working with and providing continuous improvement to current policies and procedures working with HR.
- Health and safety practices o Absenteeism Management (RTW)
- Have previous experience in a similar role (Management, Leadership and experience in MIG welding).
- Experienced in MIG Welding, heavy plate up to 15 mm multi position.
- Experience of working in a HGV industry, with heavy weight fabrication and heavy plates up to 15mm.
- Be able to troubleshoot and solve issues that arise on the production floor and keeping a safe and clean production workspace.
- Be able to work on your own as well as part of a team.
- Provide management, leadership, and motivation to their team.
- Have excellent knowledge and experience in MIG welding .
- Previous experience Mentoring and coaching employees, encouraging continuous improvement within the team.
- Full UK license.
