Buyer Huddersfield £35,000

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a talented Buyer to join our client, a rapidly growing company within a specialised industry that provides advanced containment solutions. The Buyer will support the Senior Buyer, ensuring all procurement activities align with business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and components for capital projects.
  • Manage purchase requisitions for capital equipment and aftermarket, adhering to company financial procedures and ensuring output accuracy.
  • Expedite outstanding purchase orders according to schedules, notifying the Senior Buyer and Project Manager of any potential delays.
  • Confirm receipt and acknowledgment of purchase orders by suppliers, maintaining accurate delivery dates in the ERP system.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure cost savings through agreements, schedules, rebates, and discounts.
  • Develop proactive relationships with suppliers to meet deadlines.
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain necessary certifications for all departments.
  • Follow the NCR process for non-conforming components to secure replacements or credits and work with suppliers on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on supplier performance against delivery and quality KPIs.
  • Manage the stock control system to ensure value-added stock holding and correct stock levels.
  • Assist the Senior Buyer in managing consignment stock contracts.
  • Collaborate with Stores, Fabrication, and Assembly Teams to ensure product flow.
  • Assist with stock take activities.

Benefits:

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Purchasing role within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience handling NCRs (non-conforming products).
  • Strong understanding of stock control importance.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong character and confidence in dealing with stakeholders both internally and externally, in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Desire to drive and embrace change.
