Join our Capital Development and Delivery Team as a Quantity Surveyor, where you will provide client-side construction-based project management and quantity surveying services. This role involves delivering a variety of major projects including schools, leisure centres, offices, depots, and listed buildings. You will be instrumental in promoting best practices in project and programme management, cost control, construction procurement, and commercial and contractual management.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide a full range of Quantity Surveying services on complex projects, including Pre-Contract and Post-Contract services.
  • Achieve team aims and improve staff performance by employing resources effectively to meet financial targets and service objectives.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues to ensure the service is cost-effective and operates as a successful business unit.
  • Manage projects and staff to meet service key performance indicators and customer objectives.
  • Complete commissions to the quality, time, and cost requirements of the brief.
  • Deliver high standards of customer care and professionalism.
  • Ensure compliance with EU procurement and Public Procurement Rules.
  • Assess and process Contractor payments and claims, and deliver post-contract services effectively on complex projects.
  • Prepare and agree on Final Accounts, including specialist subcontractors.
  • Set up Construction Partnering Frameworks and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, codes of practice, and current legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Quantity Surveying related qualification to graduate level.
  • Chartered member of RICS with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong financial management skills and professional practice understanding.
  • Ability to apply financial control and manage complex projects.
  • Environmental awareness.
  • Full and valid driving licence.
  • Ability to attend occasional project meetings outside of normal office hours and visit construction sites, including ascending/descending scaffolding.
