Quantity Surveyor
12 months rolling contract

My Tier 1 client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join on a contract basis to support the team with an increase in workload, working on a major civil engineering project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To understand the procurement process and targets in securing the services of Sub-Contractors/Suppliers/Design Consultants
- Maximum value for money is achieved.
- Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus and best practise across each project team
- Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, drawings
- Set and manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS
- Proactively drive the recording of all contractual entitlements, ensure timely notification of events and accurate pricing and substantiation of change
- Establishment of robust project life cycle cost forecasts updated monthly and monitored against agreed targets
- Notify Managing Surveyor, Civils Director and Project Manager of any commercial disagreements with Employer and Sub-Contractors / Suppliers
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working on major civil project
- Worked dealing with subcontracts
- BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Worked with / for Tier 1 contractors
- Experience with NEC contracts
- Negotiation training
- Have / had PTS (would be beneficial)
