Veritas Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a dynamic team in a challenging yet rewarding environment in Huddersfield.

About the Role:

As an English Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a love for literature and language among students who may exhibit challenging behaviours. Your innovative teaching methods and strong classroom management skills will be essential in creating a positive learning environment. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning needs, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to the curriculum.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, employing strategies to engage all students.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Track and monitor student progress using school systems.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to support student development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students, particularly those with challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Arbor and Class Charts systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in working with students with additional needs or behavioural challenges.
