Job Duties:
  • Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a Secondary Resource Provision
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment
  • Help students with their academic and personal development
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEND
Education:

Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)

Experience:

Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of SEND and relevant support strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good organisational skills
  • BSL Level 2 or above 
  • PECS or MAKATON 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • First Aid training
