A growing business is looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to monitor, maintain and repair electrical components of production machinery, working both proactively and reactively to minimise downtime and maximise efficient working time. Along with a salary up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience), you will also receive auto-enrolment onto the company pension scheme, free parking, free flu vaccinations, 21 shifts holiday and a Christmas gift. The shift pattern is 2 days, 2 nights 4 off 06:00-18:00, 18:00-06:00. As Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:
  • Performing general maintenance duties, proactive and reactive to ensure there is minimum downtime.
  • Communicating details of unscheduled downtime and the reasons, with solutions offered.
  • Participating in trouble shooting and problem resolutions.
  • Participating in continuous process improvements.
  • Updating the KPI board promptly with relevant information to pass on to your work colleagues
  • Maintaining regular communication talks with the machine foreman and other team leaders to discuss any relevant issues.
  • Ensuring comprehensive information, both verbal and written, is carried out between shifts to ensure efficient and smooth handover
  • Carrying out routine schedules to the schedule plan PPM (preventative planning maintenance)
  • Attending regular one to ones with line manager to discuss progress and achieve set goals and objectives.
  • Assisting in training other/new team members when requested.
  • Ensuring a quality service is provided to customers.
  • Ensuring all quality issues raised are managed in line with Quality and audit processes.
  • Ensuring all equipment meets company and legal health & safety requirements.
  • Ensuring all group Safety policies are adhered to within your area of responsibilities.
We’re looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with:
  • Experience as an Electrical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
  • A City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering including at least 17th Edition.
  • Excellent problem analysis, PLC fault finding and ability to read schematic diagrams.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of electrical control systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferable but not essential.
  • An excellent understanding and commitment to safe working practices.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to identify maintenance improvement opportunities and develop action plan to deliver.
  • Experience using computerised maintenance management system, (CMMS), to manage daily work activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
