Autism Support Worker
NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a School in Huddersfield who are looking for an Autism Support Worker to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with additional needs such as Autism, care for their social, emotional, and mental health and have strong behaviour management. Autism Support Worker roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the students with their learning and daily routines in both indoor and outdoor provisions.
- To support children with Autism.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing behaviour, promoting respect, ensuring the safety of all students and differentiating the deliverance of the learning.
- Support the student with their social, emotional and physical needs as well as help support them with their learning.
- Evaluate pupil progress through various assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey, both to the pupil, other staff and have good clear and concise communication with parents/carers.
Autism Support Worker Non-Negotiables:
- Full-time availability and able to provide 2 professional references.
- Be comfortable with challenging behaviour and be able to navigate and manage children's behaviours when necessary.
- Have recent, and relevant experience working with children or those with additional needs
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Hold patience, empathy, and ability to build rapport with children.
