We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated Mental Health Specialist Support Staff to join our committed team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of children with special educational needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide targeted mental health support to students, working closely with the class teacher and other specialist staff.
  • Engage and motivate pupils with autism, helping them navigate their social and emotional needs.
  • Build trust and confidence among pupils and staff.
  • Be a flexible, reflective, and self-evaluating practitioner focused on improving the quality of learning and well-being.
  • Maintain effective communication with children, young people, and other staff members, adapting to diverse backgrounds.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with special educational needs (SEN) in a mental health-focused role or similar transferable role.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to relate with children from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to high standards in all aspects of school life.
  • Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Ability to inspire, challenge, and stimulate both pupils and staff.
