RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Huddersfield for Resident Advocacy Workers.

As a Resident Advocacy Worker, you will act as advocate for our clients who are survivors of modern slavery; supporting them to address and overcome any social, personal, physical or mental health issues they may experience and empowering them with daily routines and activities.

This is a full time, permanent position and offers a salary of £23,000

Main Duties:

  • Candidates will be working with a vulnerable client groups such as asylum seekers and refugees.
  • Have an understanding of working with asylum, refugees and migrants and individuals fleeing domestic abuse and work with a trauma informed approach
  • Experience of individuals with challenging behaviours, addiction or mental health problems
  • Candidates will have the ability to maintain a professional attitude and remain calm, yet assertive in challenging work situations and support service users in crisis situations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience of prioritising own workload
  • Experience of working with confidential information.
  • Experience of the criminal justice system, immigration law, safeguarding adults and children and the legal responsibilities linked to these responsibilities linked to these
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits and community care legislation and awareness of issues which might affect the management of clients in shared housing.
  • The post holder will be working with vulnerable men, women and children and will therefore be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
