Day-to-day of the role:As an Autism Specialist Supply Teaching Assistant, you will: - Provide temporary support across various classrooms, adapting quickly to different educational settings while maintaining a focus on autism. - Assist permanent staff by implementing effective strategies tailored to the needs of students with autism. - Support the development and execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). - Facilitate a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students feel supported and valued. - Use specialised techniques to enhance communication and engagement, helping students achieve their full potential.
Required Skills & Qualifications:- Proven experience as an Autism Specialist Supply Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within special educational needs (SEN) settings.
- A robust understanding of autism and the specific challenges and opportunities it presents in an educational context.
- Confidence and dedication to go above and beyond in supporting children with special needs.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service.
- Excellent adaptability and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various teams and adapt to changing classroom environments.
