Secondary Complex Needs Support Assistant

Autism Specialist School - Huddersfield

KS4/KS4 Support

NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Specialist Autism School in Huddersfield who are looking for an Advanced Complex Needs Support Assistant to work with students aged 12-16 years.

The students in this class have severe Autism and a cognitive age of 1-3 years meaning majority of these Secondary students are non-verbal and require 1:1 support and personal care.

This is a full-time position starting ideally as soon as possible and will be for a temporary to permanent contract with the school working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm during term time with 13 weeks of holiday per year.

The process for this school would be a registration and vetting checks through NextGen Teachers, a full trial day/interview and then a job offer in the new couple of weeks.

This school is just a 15 minute walk from the Huddersfield Train station and for drivers there is a secure car park at the school.

This school is keen to support aspiring individuals who are looking for career progression.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a minimum of a Level 3 Qualification
  • Have experience working with young people (secondary age) with complex needs
  • Experience working with people with Autism
  • Have experience with changing and personal care
  • Have a passion to support children with additional needs
  • Have full-time availability
  • Have a DBS on the update service or, willingness to complete one
