Join our brand new, state-of-the-art independent school, opening its doors very soon which specialises in providing a nurturing and inclusive education for children and young people with special educational needs, aged 10 to 18. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where up to 24 students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our school is part of an award-winning organisation known for its excellence in providing step-down services and specialist education for children and young adults. We specialise in residential step-down services for children and young people with complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and mental health issues. Our creative and nurturing approach focuses on each individual and delivers a targeted programme of support specifically designed around them.
Day-to-day of the role:- Support the delivery of personalised educational programs tailored to the unique needs of each student in our modern, well-equipped facilities.
- Assist in focusing on the emotional well-being of students through a holistic and therapeutic approach, utilising the latest educational techniques and resources.
- Work collaboratively with families and a team of passionate staff to foster a supportive network that enhances each student's development.
- Participate in continuous professional development opportunities in a cutting-edge educational setting.
- Help facilitate a variety of inclusive activities that promote personal and social development, leveraging both the innovative indoor and expansive outdoor learning environments.
- Maintain a positive, stimulating classroom environment that respects the dignity of each child and encourages their growth in our new, purpose-built school.
- Take on additional responsibilities and lead classroom activities under the direction of the teaching staff.
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification at Level 4.
- Experience working with children and young people, preferably those with special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of the educational and emotional challenges faced by students with special needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to adapt support methods to meet individual needs.
