Stafflex is recruiting compassionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Huddersfield. In this role, you will provide vital assistance to students with special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with special educational needs
  • Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and adapting classroom activities to meet the needs of SEN students
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing environment to promote student's social, emotional, and academic development
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to monitor and report on student progress
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies for supporting these students
  • Minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
  • Maths and English qualification of Level 2 or above
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's learning and well-being
  • An enhanced DBS check registered with the DBS Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
