Purpose of the Role
Control and coordinate the Health & Safety of the Company. Coordinate UK Quality Assurance
system in line with requirements of ISO standards and business objectives.
Responsibilities
Health & Safety
• Provide technical assistance in development, implementation, monitoring and review of the
safety arrangements and policy
• Control the Health & Safety policy of the company, ensuring the company is compliant with
any changes in legislation
• Control and organise Health & Safety committee
• Provide/organise Health & Safety training as requested by management and safety
committee
• Ensure the Company risk assessments procedures and processes are in line with current
legislation
• Monitor Health & Safety throughout the company ensuring compliance from all employees
and management team of the company
• Obtain advice from external bodies as requested by management or the safety committee
• Control the first aid arrangements of the company ensuring all first aid representatives have
adequate training
• Control the company accident and incident reporting, liaising with external bodies as and
when required
• Ensure that all employees have the required level of Health & Safety training.
• Control the fire safety procedures of the company
• Provide a Health & Safety induction to all new employees of the company
• Provide assistance in the development of the risk assessment associated with the design,
manufacture, transportation, and installation/commissioning of the equipment
• Conduct internal audits in line with plan and follow up/close non-conformance to ensure the
company is complaint with ISO 45001 standard
• Manage the health surveillance of employees as required by their role
• Facilities management, including managing contractor control, ensuring the company is
fully compliant to legislation
Environmental
• Provide technical assistance in development, implementation, monitoring and review of the
environmental arrangements and policy.
• Control the Environmental Policy of the Company, ensuring the Company is compliant with
any changes in legislation.
• Provide /Organise Environmental training as requested by management.
• Ensure that the Company Risk Assessments procedures and processes are in link with
current legislation.
• Monitor Environmental impacts throughout the Company ensuring compliance from all
employees and Management Team of the Company.
• Obtain advice from external bodies as requested by management.
• Control the Company Aspects & Impacts Register and reporting, liaising with external
bodies as and when required.
• Ensure that all employees have the required level of Environmental Awareness training.
• Control the Emergency Preparedness procedures of the Company
• Provide an Environmental induction to all new employees of the Company.
• Conduct internal audits in line with plan and follow up/close non-conformance to ensure the
company is complaint with ISO 14001 standard
Quality Assurance
• Maintenance and development of ISO9001 system to continually improve the system in line
with company requirements
• Host external audit visits
• Conduct internal audits in line with plan and follow up/close non-conformance to ensure the
company is complaint with ISO 9001 standard
• Coordinate and maintain Fit4Nuclear Accreditation.
• Host QA management meetings in line with plan, facilitating meetings with all key
information and evidence presented for each clause, enabling leadership team to make
informed executive decisions to mitigate risks and exploit opportunities
• Provide a centre of excellence for QA and compliance related issues
• Management of QA file structure
• Guide staff in the implementation of the most effective and efficient processes related to the
business quality systems
General
• Share expertise and keep up to date with developments
• Maintain an effective working relationship with all teams within the business
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the business, its people and processes
• Participate in other duties as and when required
• Comply with all policies and procedures within the company
• Carry out all duties with regard to and ensuring equal opportunity
• Work with all employees within the company in the fulfilment of our aims
• Ensure that you remain compliant with health and safety regulations and accepted safe
practice at all times. Report any health and safety issues or contraventions witnessed
anywhere within the business to your manager
