Financial Controller – Hull - £60,000 - £65,000An exceptional opportunity to play a key role in a fast growing business, who have recently become PE backed and expected to double in size in the next 3-5 yrs. As Financial Controller you will be responsible for leading the finance operations of the business, ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, and reporting. You will drive financial efficiency, improve processes, lead key projects and provide strategic insight to the wider senior management team to support decision making.This role has rapid development to become Finance Director for someone who is driven to succeed and grow with a business.Financial Controller Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting, including detailed board pack and commentary
  • Develop, support and lead a small finance team
  • Budgets, forecasting and financial planning
  • Manage compliance with statutory reporting requirements, bank covenants and manage annual audit
  • Partner the senior leadership team, evaluate financial models, provide insight to support decision making and make commercial recommendations
  • Cashflow management and forecasting
  • Lead the implementation of a new ERP system
  • Review and develop internal controls, reporting, processes, and procedures
  • Oversee stock management, controls and reporting, including implementation of an improved stock management system
  • Support with acquisitions, due diligence and integration of businesses into the group reporting
  • Work closely with the Directors on financial strategy and corporate planning
Required Skills & Experience:
  • ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with proven experience in a similar role  
  • Strong technically accounting knowledge and experience
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance and audit
  • Ability to embrace and drive change, with a continuous improvement mentality
  • Proactive and driven individual, who wants to add value and be part of an exciting future
  • Experience dealing with investors and board level directors
  • Confidence to challenge other business stakeholders and not accept the status quo
  • Private equity, acquisition or due diligence experience is an advantage but not essential
