Job Title: Engineering ManagerLocation: East YorkshireSalary: £60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Life assurance + Contributory Pension + Private HealthConsortium recruitment are proud to be partnering with a well established Manufacturing business based in East Yorkshire to recruit an Engineering Manager.  This position is crucial to the business in terms of operational success, overseeing maintenance and facilities management while driving performance improvements and delivering capital projects.About the Role Reporting directly to the Ops Director, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team of operations professionals, with direct line management for three reports and accountability for a team of around 40 employees across the Maintenance function. Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement a structured, standardized maintenance roadmap with strong integration of autonomous maintenance practices.
  • Capital Project Management: Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects, including forecasting, reporting on spend, and overseeing end-to-end project management.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to UK legislation and EH&S policies, prioritizing the health and safety of all team members.
  • Performance Measurement: Implement effective KPIs to monitor and enhance maintenance system performance (e.g., % of reactive vs. planned maintenance).
  • Best Practices: Promote and embed best practices across all engineering disciplines.
  • Team Leadership: Provide dynamic leadership to the engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Requirements :To be considered for this role you MUST  have :
  • Qualifications: Degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline (or minimum NVQ Level 5).
  • Professional Experience: Proven background in manufacturing and Maintenance environments.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong experience in managing engineering teams, with the ability to inspire and build positive relationships across departments. My client will consider both established Engineering Managers and Maintenance Managers who are ready for the next step up in terms of responsibility.
  • Organisational Skills: Highly organized, computer literate, and proficient in project management.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of PUWER and LOLER regulations, with comprehensive technical expertise.
