Headley Professional Recruitment are recruiting a Health & Safety Manager for our client in Hull.The client is an interior fit out contractor who specialize in shopfitting projects across the UK. They have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track construction fit out projects across the sector for some leading retail clients. Many of these clients are large food retailers such as Waitrose, Co-op, Sainsburys, Marks & Spencer and WHSmith.

The Role:

The role will co-ordinate, support and advise the business on all aspects with regards Health, Safety and Environment. To establish, manage, enforce and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with Health, Safety and Environment are adhered to. To ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental legislative requirements and industry standards are properly implemented throughout the business. To ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded and investigated accordingly.

The role is responsible for developing Health, Safety and Environmental standards, and ensuring that they are embedded within the business. The role will be responsible for setting the strategic framework for management of these standards and for defining and delivering against objectives that enable both the achievement and continuous improvements of these standards.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Member of IOSH (preferred)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • CSCS Card
  • Construction or shopfitting industry experience with environmental knowledge (desired)
  • Environmental qualifications (preferred)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • High organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Excellent planning and project management skills
  • IT literate including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Full driving licence
