My client, a very successful family run Restoration company, seek a Restoration Technician to join their growing team in Hull. This company have been operating for over 20 years and have developed an excellent reputation in the market. They deal with jobs from start to finish, employing their own trades and work with a number of Insurers and Loss Adjusters
The purpose of Restoration Technician is to restore domestic residences and commercial properties to their pre-loss condition following an escape of water or flood damage and get customers back into their homes or back to business as soon as possible. The main functions of this role are to perform water mitigation, and mould remediation services and to communicate with the customer appropriately, instilling confidence in the services performed.
Duties:
- Identify the source and scope of water damage to properties. Provide full and detailed reports of all damage within 24 hours of the Initial visit and carry out mitigating works where necessary to prevent secondary damage.
- Remove and dispose of any non-salvageable flooring that was affected by the water loss.
- Perform light construction demo upon approval ensuring all debris and dust is contained and cleared away to the best of your ability.
- Set up of appropriate drying systems.
- Complete paperwork and tablet based reports to meet timed targets.
- Support Team Members.
- Perform water mitigation and structural drying using speciality equipment in line with training and operational manuals for domestic and commercial properties and in accordance with standards
- Conduct mould remediation using commercial chemicals and adhering to health and safety guidelines and in accordance with standards
- Perform residential and commercial cleaning of contents within the property or at off-site locations
- Liaise with customers, insurance representatives, sub-contractors and others involved with the claim professionally, maintaining high standards and open dialogue.
- Upload in a timely fashion, photos, videos, documents and reports to company systems including job specifications, estimates, equipment & labour usage etc to enable efficient flow of work and invoicing
- Input suggestions, information and ideas to implement process improvements, whether in time or costs, to increase the effectiveness and profitability of the operation
- Comply with all verbal and written safety practices including the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and respiratory protection equipment, making others aware of any potential danger
- Attend regular training courses as required
Experience and skills required for a Restoration Technician:
- Must be familiar with and be able to operate a wide range of equipment common to drying
- Ability to work for long periods of time in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Able to work in an environment that has suffered water damage
- Able to respond to service calls after-hours and during inclement weather
