Description of Role:As the Electrical and Controls Engineer, you will be working on a range of projects, primarily in machine applications. This role is predominantly office-based, with occasional site support depending on project requirements.
Responsibilities:-
Electrical Design: Responsible for the complete design of system controls and electrical components, either directly or through coordination with specialists.

PLC Programming: Develop control system software from scratch or modify existing programs, including integrated safety features.

Technical Drawings: Produce detailed control system design drawings, schematics, and cabling layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Electrical OM).

Standards and Compliance: Identify and apply relevant industry standards, such as EN ISO 13849 and IEC 62061, and compile technical documentation for CE compliance.

Industry Research: Stay up to date with technical developments in machine automation and applications.

Tender Support: Provide robust tender documentation and cost estimates.

Site Engagement: Conduct site visits, surveys, and commissioning activities as required.

Strong technical knowledge of complex electrical systems, PLCs, Drives, Control Systems, and SCADA in an industrial environment.

Proven experience in Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA programming (TIA Portal), including integrated safety and networking.

Working knowledge of functional safety, ideally supported by formal competency.

Experience in control system design using AutoCAD and associated documentation.

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and liaise directly with colleagues and clients.

Comprehensive understanding of British and international standards for technical design.

Strong ability to work independently, managing time and workload efficiently to meet project milestones.

Good verbal, written communication, and technical writing skills.

Awareness of health, safety, and environmental priorities in engineering projects.

Experience in a rail environment is advantageous.

Minimum HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent knowledge and professional experience in a relevant discipline.
