Principal IT are delighted to be exclusively representing one of our fastest growing clients to help them secure the services of a Cyber Security Analyst to join them on a permanent basis.

As a Cyber security analyst you will be a crucial part of the IT Services and security team, focusing on supporting the organisation's cybersecurity posture. This role provides a learning platform for individuals eager to develop their cybersecurity skills, working alongside senior security professionals to monitor, analyse, and respond to potential security threats.

Essential Skills

• IT Security Fundamentals: A strong foundation in IT security concepts, including knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and basic encryption techniques.
• Cloud Security (Azure, AWS): Familiarity with cloud security best practices and services, focusing on Azure and AWS environments.
• SIEM Solutions: Exposure to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools like Splunk or Azure Sentinel, including log analysis and incident response.
• ISMS and ITIL Frameworks: Working knowledge of Information Security Management Systems and ITIL frameworks for managing and improving security operations.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong ability to analyse security data and communicate findings effectively within the team.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring security alerts and incidents across both cloud and on-premises environments.
• Assisting senior security staff with incident management and response activities.
• Supporting the maintenance of the security incident management process and ensuring timely updates.
• Analysing logs and alerts to identify potential indicators of compromise.
• Contributing to security documentation, including knowledgebase articles and playbooks.
• Participating in security meetings and ongoing training sessions to enhance knowledge.

Package

As a Cyber Security analyst you will be offered a basic salary of between £45k to £55k per annum 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and many other corporate benefits.
