Would you like to work with a vibrant, fun team in the Arts sector 4 days per week? I am seeking a part time experienced Accountant for a contract until Spring 2026 which may then be extended.

THE BENEFITS:
25 days holiday (pro rata) plus bank holidays, 5% pension, enhanced parental and sick leave, flexible start and leave times based on 30 hours per week and hybrid options are available.

THE ROLE:
This is a part time position, 4 days per week (30 hours), based in Hull and will take control of the day-to-day finance function. This role reports directly into the CEO, Artistic Director and the Board of Trustees.
Develop the annual budget for approval along with multi-year forecasts and models.
Prepare the monthly management accounts and variance analysis, maintain cash forecasts and treasury management of financial assets and reserves.
Ensure robust financial controls are in place and that good procurement practices are in place including up to date policies and procedures.
Prepare the annual statutory reports liaising with the external accountants. Ensure tax compliance, prepare VAT returns.
Ad hoc projects as and when required.

THE CANDIDATE:
You are an experienced accountant, ideally qualified or part qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA and preferably with previous experience of the Arts or Charity sectors. You might have gained this from working in professional practice or directly with the sectors. Candidates who have worked in the education sector are also welcome to apply as experience of working with grants and funding would be beneficial to the role. Qualified by experience candidates will also be considered with the relevant skills and experience.
A strong relationship builder and excellent communicator both written and verbal, you enjoy working collaboratively and have the ability to relay financial information to non-finance colleagues.
A good understanding of IT systems is essential, and experience of Sage would be beneficial.
