A Finance Manager is required for one of the largest employers in East Yorkshire.
Joining the shared service function, you will lead, manage and run all Management Accounting related activities (e.g. P&L, Balance sheet, CAPEX, recs etc) for one or more of the regions and be responsible for the cost-effective operation and high performance of the accounting processes within the shared service functions.
A key focus for this role is to ensure the production of timely, relevant and accurate monthly reporting, financial information, statutory accounting, strong controls, process standardisation and continuous improvement.
The post holder will be an experienced qualified accountant with the objective of managing and leading a team of at least 5 or more direct reports, providing accurate, timely, relevant and reliable financial information, variance analysis, commentary etc to internal customers and stakeholders to enable critical forward-looking business decisions to be taken. Customer focused with strong communication skills working with the regional Heads of Finance and Finance Business Partners.
SCOPE
The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of the following services;
- Process intercompany transactions.
- Review and sign off balance sheet reconciliations ensuring audit trail, older items are actioned and cleared.
- Lead and manage the banking team and related activities for all ABP companies working closely with HO Treasury team re foreign currency requirements/processes etc.
- Lead and manage a team to produce month end results within the deadlines including revenue recognition, correct cost allocation, capex and maintenance spend etc.
- Statutory Accounting at half year and full year and subsequent support/queries working with Group Finance and external auditors.
- Tax reporting e.g. monthly VAT returns, CSL/CSR returns etc.
- Ensure production of regional management account reports including completion of Monthly Board reports and Quarterly business reporting, analysis, fully review and meaningful commentary.
- Ensure monthly review meetings take place with Finance Business Partners and each business areas reviewing results, Capex spend and project status/updates and related actions.
- Responsible for all capital related processes e.g. depreciation, cost allocation, disposals, capitalising assets, spend reviews, reporting etc on significant capex budget and significant involvement in IP accounting.
- Provide guidance, support and education to the team around accounting treatment and financial close.
- Lead, manage and motivate team, providing timely and relevant feedback and supporting those studying for their professional accountancy qualification are given opportunities to expand experience to support their studies were possible.

- Thorough understanding of accounting (processes and GAAP)
- Experience of designing and implementing process improvements and leading departmental change
