Goods in Operative required for manufacturing business in Derby, this is intially a temporary opportunity with a view to a permanent opportunityThe Goods in Operative is responsible for the receipt, inspection, and storage of materials, components, and products required.The role ensures that all incoming goods are checked for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry and company standards before being processed for inventory. Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory and safety standards are critical.Duties include;

  • Receive, unload, and check deliveries against orders and delivery notes.
  • Verify incoming parts, components, and materials for quantity, condition, and part numbers.
  • Coordinate with procurement and suppliers regarding any discrepancies in deliveries.
  • Inspect incoming goods for any damage, non-conformance, or quality issues.
  • Document and report any issues or non-compliance to the quality control team.
  • Log received items into the inventory management system (ERP system).
  • Label and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all required documentation for goods receipt, including packing slips, delivery notes, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements, including health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain records in line with aerospace standards (e.g., material certifications, traceability requirements).
  • Work closely with production to ensure timely delivery of materials.
