GSL Education are excited to offer the opportunity for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Hull, starting in January 2025 or sooner.
About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide focused, tailored support to a specific student, ensuring their needs are met throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment where the student can excel. Your role will involve offering both academic and emotional support, adapting learning strategies to suit the individual needs of the student and ensuring they feel encouraged and engaged in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one support to a student with specific learning needs, helping them access the curriculum effectively.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to create and implement personalised learning plans.
- Support the student in both academic tasks and social interactions, promoting independence and self-confidence.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring the student feels safe and supported.
- Monitor the student’s progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher, making any necessary adjustments to learning strategies.
- Assist with any additional tasks as required to support the student’s learning and well-being.
What We Are Looking for in a 1:1 TA:
- A passion for working with students on a one-to-one basis and helping them achieve their potential.
- Previous experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students with individual learning needs.
- A commitment to making a positive difference in the life of a student.

- Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
- Have an Enhaned DBS registered with the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
