Humanities Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a part time History teacher to work at a school in Hull, starting ASAP, and lasting until at least December 2024, with the potential to increase in the future. This is a temporary position, and is covering a period of sickness, so there is the potential for this to extend in the future. This position is a three day per week position, with teaching days Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This position will be paid in line with the main teaching pay scale, meaning payment between £162.31 and £223.62 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

This role will involve teaching all three humanities subjects to Key Stage 3, and RE to Key Stage 4. Planning is not required for this role, but marking is required.

This school is located in Hull and has a large onsite car park for those candidates that do drive. It is available via public transport for candidates without access to a car. It is part of a small academy trust and the shared resources on site are fantastic, meaning planning for this position will be minimal. ECTs are encouraged to apply for this role, and there is the opportunity to complete a term of the ECT during this position. Opportunities in other trust schools (some of which are local) may be available for the successful candidate.

Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have experience working within schools in the UK.
  • Has experience teaching Humanities to at least KS4 students
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
