GSL Education are recruiting for a Design Technology Teacher to work within a Client Secondary School located Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. This is a great opportunity for a Qualified Teacher seeking a change in pace or simply after a new challenge.

Design Technology Teacher responsibilities will include:

  • You will be responsible for planning and delivering both Product Design and Food Technology at Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
  • You will work with the department to create schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Evaluating the ability of individual students, putting together BTEC materials for exams, and helping students with special needs.
  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of design processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Contribute and engage in extra-curricular Design and Technology activities.
  • Take part in staff training days, staff meetings and parent’s evenings.
  • Successful candidate will also be required to teach some other subjects that they are passionate about which will be discussed in interview.

Design Technology Teacher requirements:

  • A UK teaching qualification such as a PGCE in Design and Technology or B.Ed with QTS.
  • Have experience teaching both Product Design and Food Technology to GCSE.
  • Be aware of appropriate strategies for mixed attainment, with the ability to adapt to the varying demands of each classroom.
  • Be effective at behaviour management linked to social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
