Residential Property Solicitor

Hull City Centre

40k to 60k DOE

Monday to Friday Office based

A well established and loyal client is looking for a Residential Property Solicitor who will play a pivotal role in advising clients on all aspects of the purchase and sale of residential properties, encompassing both freehold and leasehold transactions. This position involves managing your own caseload, supporting the Residential Property team, and contributing to the growth and development of the department. You will also be expected to proactively seek business leads and leverage marketing opportunities for the sustained success of the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of freehold and leasehold residential property transactions.
  • Manage a varied caseload, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, new builds, right to buy, and shared ownership purchases.
  • Handle residential property transactions from initial instruction to completion.
  • Provide support to the Residential Property team and assist the head of the department in departmental growth and development.
  • Proactively seek and secure business leads, contributing to the marketing efforts of the Residential Property department.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting client relationships in line with Pepperells' "Partner for Life" ethos.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years PQE (Post-Qualified Experience), though applicants with more or less experience are welcome.
  • Ability to handle a range of residential property transactions from initial instruction to completion.
  • Experience in managing a varied and busy caseload, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, transfers of equity, new builds, right to buy, and shared ownership purchases.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with clients, estate agents, and other relevant parties.
  • Ability to build long-lasting client relationships in line with Pepperells' "Partner for Life" ethos.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of private client matters, including but not limited to Wills, probate applications, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney, trust administration and inheritance tax planning.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients, ensuring a high level of client care and satisfaction.
  • Handle complex private client cases and demonstrate proficiency in a broad spectrum of private client work.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, complying with the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Attend client meetings, court hearings, and other appointments as required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various offices to share knowledge and expertise.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 2 years PQE in private client law.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of private client work, demonstrating a broad skill set.
  • Strong client-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the overall success of the firm.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
