Consortium Professional Recruitment are representing a global manufacturer, based in the Hull area, who are seeking a proactive and analytical Supply, Demand & Production Planner. In this role, you will be responsible for balancing supply and demand, optimising production planning, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations. You will work closely with internal teams and directly liaise with customers to manage expectations, negotiate realistic lead times, and push back against unrealistic demands when necessary. Strong SAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills are essential for success in this role.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer orders.
  • Create and optimise production plans to align with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Manage supply planning to ensure raw materials and components are available for production.
  • Use SAP to monitor inventory levels, production schedules, and procurement activities.
  • Analyse and interpret data using Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production and delivery processes.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their needs, provide realistic lead times, and manage expectations.
  • Push back against unrealistic customer demands while maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the supply chain and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Track and report on KPIs related to demand accuracy, inventory levels, and production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes and system utilisation.
Key Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in supply chain, demand planning, or production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in SAP for supply chain management and production planning.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and data analysis).
  • Strong communication and customer-facing skills to liaise effectively with external stakeholders.
  • Confidence in pushing back against unrealistic demands while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in forecasting, inventory management, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain best practices.
