Repairs Surveyor - East Yorkshire

Our client is a leading social housing provider delivering high-quality homes and services to residents across East Yorkshire.

The Role
On behalf of our client, were seeking an experienced Repairs Surveyor to join their Property Services team, covering the East Yorkshire region. This role is crucial in maintaining their housing stock and ensuring residents receive prompt, high-quality repair services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess property repairs, maintenance requirements, and building defects across a diverse portfolio of properties
  • Prepare detailed technical specifications and scope of works for repair projects
  • Diagnose complex building defects and recommend appropriate remedial actions
  • Manage contractor relationships and oversee quality of repair works
  • Conduct pre and post-inspection of repair works
  • Process and approve repair works up to £25,000
  • Maintain detailed electronic records of all inspections and recommendations
  • Carry out regular site visits to monitor ongoing works
  • Complete property surveys including void property inspections
  • Identify and report on potential health and safety risks
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health & safety requirements
  • Provide technical advice to colleagues and residents
  • Monitor and control repair budgets
  • Use mobile technology to record and update survey findings
  • Contribute to the development of planned maintenance programmes
  • Handle resident queries and complaints professionally
  • Attend resident meetings when required
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management
  • Assist in the development of repair policies and procedures
  • Carry out stock condition surveys
  • Identify and report potential cases of property abuse or tenancy breaches
  • Liaise with other departments including Asset Management and Customer Services
  • Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota (paid additional allowance)
  • Assist in procurement of contractors and maintenance of approved contractor lists
