Your new roleHays Logistics are excited to be working exclusively on a new opportunity for a Logistics Planner role based in Hull, East Yorkshire. You will work in a multidisciplined environment, focusing on customer centricity, planning, and managing specialised equipment.
As Logistics Planner, you will be responsible for tracking and planning equipment according to specific product, customer, and operational requirements, ensuring timely turnaround of tanks to maximise utilisation. You will maintain service levels for customers by liaising closely with them for order placement and enquiries.
Additionally, you will coordinate with suppliers to book appropriate transportation for order execution and track and plan UK drivers to maximise their earnings potential. Ensuring seamless implementation of new business and monitoring equipment utilisation to arrange for tank cleans, repairs, and service as needed will also be part of your role.
What you'll need to succeedWe are looking for candidates with prior experience in planning within the logistics industry and experience in a customer-facing role, with the ability to switch between customer service and operational tasks. You should be adaptable to changing priorities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, propose solutions, and make informed decisions under pressure are essential. Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail are required to ensure accuracy in data entry, documentation, and record keeping. Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to understand and empathise with the needs and concerns of team members, drivers, and stakeholders, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment, are crucial.
