Freight Forwarder
Salary: 30k (DOE)
Location: Hull
Hours: Mon-Fri

Grafton Recruitment are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join our client's team based in Hull. You will provide an excellent customer service experience for customers including clearances, quotes, arranging shipment/deliveries, invoicing and all other functions as required. This is an excellent opportunity to continue on your career path within a successful, leading logistics business.

Key responsibilities are listed below:

  • Completion of end to end forwarding activities as the individual role requires
  • Follow strict and time sensitive SOP's/KPI's to ensure compliance
  • Work closely with internal and external customers
  • Customs Entries
  • Cost control
  • Assist senior forwarders, Supervisor and line manager where required
  • Independently generate new business leads and convert them into profitable sales.
  • Drive revenue growth by building long-term, meaningful relationships with key customers.
  • Utilise your extensive knowledge of the UK & EU transport and logistics market to identify trends, market opportunities, and potential areas for growth.
  • Track performance, report on progress, and implement strategies to optimise sales results
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Support the development of new logistics solutions


The ideal Candidate:

  • Strong sales-minded approach with a focus on building and maintaining lasting customer relationship
  • Proven operational experience in European Road freight / Import / Export / Cross Trade
  • EU Customs formalities (preferred but not essential)
  • A Good knowledge of IT systems and processes used in the transport sector
  • Strong network within the logistics sector and a proven ability to open new accounts
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong problem- solving abilities and attention to detail.
