Scope and Purpose of the Job:

  • Collaborate with the Senior leadership team to develop and manage a cohesive, high performing structure for the Design Office.
  • Work alongside the Electrical Manager on design changes and product development.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness to ensure projects are completed within or under budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise, distribute, and allocate workloads to Design Engineers.
  • Conduct quality checks on all work produced by the team to ensure it meets required standards.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to provide technical guidance for quotations, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Liaise with clients on technical inquiries and project updates through site meetings, team meetings, and surveys.
  • Oversee factory acceptance tests for the mechanical aspects of products.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Maintain a strong team with a good work ethic.
  • Coach, collaborate and develop a small team of talented Designers
  • Complete projects within or under budget.
  • Implement cost-effective design changes.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction feedback.
  • Foster great working relationships with customers and suppliers.

Knowledge & Skills:The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM.
