GSL Education are currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to work at one of our client schools in Hull, starting in January 2025 or sooner.

Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to manage a classroom, ensuring that students stay engaged with the work set by the teacher. You will supervise students during lessons, providing instructions, monitoring progress, and ensuring good behavior throughout the lesson. This role is perfect for individuals looking to work in education, supporting students in a structured and positive environment. You’ll be an essential part of the school’s team, helping to maintain a productive and supportive learning atmosphere.

Duties And Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

• Supervise students during lessons and ensure they remain engaged with the tasks set.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively and ensure a positive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher to ensure continuity of learning.
• Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and behavior during the lesson.
• Maintain a calm and controlled environment, dealing with any disruptions as appropriate.
• Ensure that students adhere to school rules and policies.
• Support students with their academic and social development as needed.

What We Are Looking for in a Cover Supervisor:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and manage students.
• Experience in a supervisory or educational role is desirable but not essential.
• A proactive, adaptable approach to work, with the ability to think on your feet.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• A passion for supporting students and contributing to their educational success.
• A calm and professional demeanor in a classroom setting.

• Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
