GSL Education are seeking a committed Year 6 Intervention Teacher to join a hardworking upper Key Stage 2 team in Hull.

About the role:

In this crucial role, you will provide targeted support and interventions to pupils, focusing on the preparation for SATs. This is an ideal opportunity for a confident classroom practitioner with a keen eye for progress and a passion for boosting pupil outcomes. You’ll be joining a school that values high standards, collaboration, and pupil achievement. The role offers a chance to work with smaller groups of pupils, providing personalised support to help them excel academically.

Year 6 Intervention Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality interventions in Reading, Writing, and Maths to Year 6 pupils.
  • Identify learning gaps and implement strategies to accelerate progress.
  • Use assessment data to track pupil progress and adapt lesson plans accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with the Year 6 teaching team to align learning objectives.
  • Provide feedback to pupils, parents, and school staff on progress and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare pupils effectively for SATs with focused booster sessions and revision strategies.
  • Foster a positive and motivated learning environment that encourages pupil confidence.
  • Adapt teaching styles and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Support pupils with SEND and EAL where required during interventions.
  • Maintain a strong classroom presence and high standards of behaviour.

What we need for a Year 6 Intervention Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally with Year 6 pupils.
  • A proven ability to raise attainment and support SATs preparation.
  • Strong subject knowledge in upper KS2 English and Maths.
  • Effective behaviour management and organisational skills.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude to teaching and planning.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply.
